Each component is licensed by its respective copyright holders. A full copy of every license below is distributed alongside the corresponding package in our application bundle, and the texts of the most common licenses are reproduced at the end of this page.

AI models
Some study features run entirely on your device using open-weight models:
- Kokoro-82M — the on-device text-to-speech voice model behind our read-aloud feature, by hexgrad, released under the Apache License 2.0 and used through Kokoro.js.
- Additional models loaded through Transformers.js are downloaded from their publishers on demand and remain governed by their own respective licenses.
